Inhalt

This 90-minute Iyengar yoga class focuses on the vital role of the groins and pelvis in standing asanas. Through careful sequencing and detailed instructions, you will learn how the actions of the legs and feet connect to freedom in the hips and groins, creating both stability and spaciousness in the pelvic region.

Standing poses are fundamental in Iyengar yoga because they:

  • Strengthen the legs, ankles, and knees, building endurance and resilience.
  • Create lift and support in the spine, improving posture and alignment.
  • Bring circulation, mobility, and release to the hips and groins.
  • Help balance the pelvis, reducing tightness and unevenness.
  • Develop awareness of grounding and expansion, cultivating steadiness of body and mind.

By working with the groins in standing postures, we address common areas of stiffness and imbalance that affect not only the hips and pelvis, but also the lower back and even the shoulders. This practice brings a sense of lightness and integration to the entire body.

The class is suitable for all levels, from beginners to experienced practitioners. Variations and use of props are demonstrated to ensure accessibility, safety, and depth of practice for everyone.

Since 2018 Claudia is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher, trained at the Iyengar Yoga Institute Berlin, actively supported by her mentors Katrin Voigt and Elizabeth Brass, founders of the Iyengar Yoga Centre in Berlin-Schöneberg.
