Inhalt

Black Lotus Yoga is a breath-led vinyasa yoga practice created by Ty Landrum. With seven sequences arranged in progressive order of difficulty, the Black Lotus system offers a structured framework for exploration and the gradual development of a personal practice.

The method harnesses the potent union of breath and movement, linking each posture to the rhythm of the breath. Through this breath-led flow, practitioners cultivate strength, mobility, concentration, and a deeper sense of awareness and presence. Within the space created through this framework, the spirit can unfold, allowing for a more profound experience of embodiment.

The sequences combine rhythmic movement with expansive postural forms and long energetic lines. As the breath carries the body through these patterns, prāṇa moves more freely, clearing stagnation and awakening a deeper sensitivity within the practice.

Black Lotus Yoga shares a close kinship with the tradition of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga that our Jivamukti Yoga lineage at Three Boons also is rooted in. All three practices arise from the same exploration of breath-based vinyasa, linking posture and breath into a continuous rhythmic flow. While distinct in structure and expression, they share a common energetic language and can complement one another within a practitioner’s path. In this sense, Black Lotus Yoga offers another way of approaching the intelligence of the body through breath, movement, and attentive practice.

Rowena introduces this method she trained in with Ty through two new weekly guided Black Lotus Yoga Open 95E classes, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 in Mitte, offering students the opportunity to gradually become familiar with the sequences and develop greater depth and consistency in their practice.

Discover the Black Lotus system at Three Boons and allow the rhythm of breath and movement to guide you into a deeper level of focus and presence in your yoga practice.

Über den Trainer/Lehrer

Rowena has been practicing yoga asana since 2008. What began as physical pursuit, soon developed into a deeper awareness of body, mind and spirit. She became curious about the history and physiology of this practice and decided to explore this curiosity through various workshops, retreats, and the completion of her first 200hr training in India in 2016. Since then she has gone on to teach in the UK, Central and South America, and as a main teacher on a 200hr TTC in India. Rowena believes in the importance of being a student first and foremost, which has led her to study Ashtanga yoga under the guidance of Sharath Jois at KPJAYI in Mysore and Jivamukti under the guidance of David Life, Anja Kuehnel & Rima Rani Rabbath in Costa Rica. She is now pursuing her 800hr certification with her beloved mentor Anjaji. Rowena is grateful to all of the special teachers who have influenced her path, Netta Imber, Corrie Ananda Preece, Cat Alip Douglas & Harmony Slater. Asato mā sadgamaya
